WEN Six Thirteen 613 Cleansing Treatment

I finally tried WEN Six Thirteen (WEN 613) and I have to agree with the 5 star reviews – it’s pretty amazing.  I had been using WEN Fig but gave away the remainder of the 32 oz bottle to my cousin who recently went natural.  I’ve tried WEN 613 a few times now.  I bought the 16 oz treatment and used the recommended 12 pumps for my first use.  I immediately noticed how easy my hair was to detangle.  I did not detangle prior to using WEN 613.  I washed and rinsed with cool water and used 2 pumps of WEN as a leave in on soaking wet hair and sealed with my oil mix.  I two strand twisted my hair and went to bed.  By morning it was not totally dry so I sat under my hood dryer for about 5 minutes.  I noticed that my hair seemed to hang a bit longer than my normal first day hair and it was very well moisturized.  It rained that day so my hair did shrink a bit while I was out and about for work.

For my second wash after styling my hair with gel, I used 5 pumps for wash one, 5 pumps for wash two (left on for 5 minutes) and I used 2 pumps of WEN as a leave in.  I had the same results, super easy to detangle hair.

One my third use, after my swimming lesson, I only used 5 pumps of WEN 613 to get the chlorine out of my hair.  My hair is not usually wet from swimming since I use two swim caps but for that lesson we were diving into the deep end.  I guess the pressure from diving allowed water to seep into my swim caps at the hairline.  I decided to do a full wash.  I used two pumps as a leave in along with my oil mix and then two strand twisted my hair.  Same great results!  My hair felt coated but in a good way, like there was no need for a styler.

WEN 613 is super thick and you need to add water per the directions to make the product spread well.  For my hair length it’s recommended to use 12 pumps from the 16 oz bottle.  For the 32 oz bottle I would guess I could use 6 – 7 pumps.  WEN 613 does not lather like a sulfate shampoo but it does have a foaming effect when water is added.
