Mesh Roller set with Pibbs – 4 weeks and 2 days post relaxer

Mesh Roller set with Pibbs

At 4 weeks and 2 weeks post relaxer I deiced to go back to using mesh rollers to see if I got faster results using the Pibbs.  If you recall, I had started out with my first roller set using mesh rollers and air drying my hair.  I got much better results with magnetic rollers but wanted to see if the drying time was faster with mesh rollers.

This was my 6th self roller set and I did much better with magnetic rollers.  I was not (and still am not) great with mesh rollers and did not do a great job with roller placement, but I dried in 25 minutesunder my Pibbs 512 so that makes up for the horrible set.

I did a pre poo with Keraphix (and a squirt of KMS Strategy reconstructor since I ran out of Keraphix) and sat under the Pibbs for 30 minutes. I washed with Gro Aut shampoo (makes my hair stiff but I am not throwing out products) and I followed that with the gro aut kit jojoba shampoo. I have about 1 use left of the Gro Aut shampoos (the oils are still almost full and will be a pre poo).  I found them on-line and thought they would work well on my hair but they did not.  My hair was still stiff (always was with Gro Aut shampoo) so I finished with Suave Humectant and sat under the Pibbs for 15 minutes. After I rinsed out the humectant, I attempted to set again with mesh rollers. I did not use setting lotion although I do now.

I set the timer to 30 minutes and I dried on medium. I was watching the clock and checked my hair after 25 minutes and it was dry!!!  So, after 25 minutes of drying under the Pibbs and after 30 minutes of roller setting (got it down from 37 minutes last time), the results came out well.  Not bad at all for 55 minutes and doing my own hair.
