Miss Jessie’s Baby Buttercreme

I finally tried Miss Jessie’s Baby Buttercreme on my natural hair.  I really was not expecting much and am still shocked that it worked so well to seal in moisture for my hair.  I wish I had touch-o-vision so you could feel my hair.  I usually avoid pricey products (got this as a free sample) but can say that it works although I won’t ever buy it full price or without a BOGO (buy one get one free).

I washed my hair and put in about 20 twists on a Tuesday night for a work trip.  To maintain the style I put my hair in a high ponytail aka pineapple at night with a silk scrunchie.  My hair was still feeling very moisturized by Sunday.

I followed my usual process, using my leave in mix and then twisting my wet hair with aloe vera gel. I sealed my twists with my free sample of Miss Jessie’s Baby Buttercreme.  I focused on ends and ran creme down the length of each twist.

I had never used this product before and the ingredients are nothing special but it does seem to work well for my hair.

Ingredients: Water, Petrolatum, Glycerin, Mineral Oil, Fragrance, Glyceryl Stereate, PEG-100 Stearate, Acetylated Lanolin, Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil, Panthenol, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Germ Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Keratin, Hydrolized Keratin, PEG-8 Dilaurate, Ceteareth-20, Stearyl Alcohol, Acrylates/C 10-30 Alkyl Acylate Crosspolymer, Disodium EDTA, Treithanolamine, DMDM Hydantoin, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Caramel, Yellow 5 (CI 19140)

Please be aware, the cost is $58 for a 16 oz hair product and $33 for the 8 oz.

I have the Miss Jessie’s Curly Meringue and the Miss Jessie’s Curly Pudding (got them on a BOGO and with a gift card).  They work okay for me but the Baby Buttercreme was shockingly good for moisture retention.

A little goes a long way since I only used it to seal my twists. I did not even need to use the entire sample packet.  I may try to twist a section of hair or two with my left over sample packet just to see how it works and report back.
