Kinky Curly Curling Custard

I tried out Kink Curly Curling Custard along with Knot Today leave in after receiving a gift card for Target from work.  I’m frugal and usually to not try out pricey products if I have to buy the full size version.  I prefer to use sample or to try out a smaller version (cheaper version) before committing to purchase.  This is a somewhat new rule for me since I already own a ton of products.

I gave KCCC a try on soaking wet hair, per the directions, and I definitely can attest that the product does what it says.  However, I think it would work better for someone with medium strands or a looser curl pattern.  For my fine, tightly coiled 4a hair it gave me a jheri curl look that I did not prefer.

The KCCC lasted on my hair for at least 3 days with my nightly routine or tying up my loose hair.  I thought about the pineapple technique but noticed that it only worked for dry hair.  At the time my hair was damp from the product.  I bunned my hair that first night with a silk scrunchie and then I came up with the idea to use some old, unused panty hose as a bonnet – similar to the Sue Maesta Hood that I was not willing to buy for like $12 – $15 for the hood.  The panty hose worked out very well and I managed to keep the style for at least 3 days.
