What is the Demarcation Line?

Around the time when you would normally get your relaxer touch up is when you see the line of demarcation on your hair strands.  The line of demarcation is where your relaxed hair and natural curly hair meet along the hair strands.  This is the most fragile part of your hair and the point to focus on as you transition from relaxed to natural hair.  This is where you hair is prone to break off as you are transitioning from permed to natural hair.

Suggestions for dealing with the line of demarcation is to use protein treatments and protein conditioners to keep that area of your hair as strong as possible.
