Eco Styler Gel

I tried Eco Styler Olive Oil gel as a substitute for Kinky Curly Curling Custard to see if I would get similar results with a less pricey gel.

I used Eco Styler on soaking wet hair after applying my leave in conditioner to avoid crunchy hair.  I immediately noticed a bit of a coating on my hands from this gel.  It was not slimy but it definitely left a residue on my hands after application.

For my fine, tightly coiled 4a hair it gave me a jheri curl look that I did not prefer.  It also dried more stiff than I expected given the leave-in conditioner that I used underneath this product.  I had to spray my hair with water in the morning to loosen up my hard hair.

I left the Eco Styler on my hair for several days with my nightly routine of tying up my loose hair with old panty hose – similar to the Sue Maesta Hood that I was not willing to buy for like $12 – $15 for the hood.  The panty hose worked out very well and I managed to keep the style for several days.
