First Wash – Beautiful Textures Naturally Straight Texture Manageability System

I washed out my Beautiful Textures Naturally Straight Texture Manageability System treatment #TryTMS.  I used only the products in the system, no extra heat protectant, conditioner or shampoo.  I filmed my hair reverting back to curly here: http://youtu.be/a3UgbtysLVk

I’ve tried and posted about my use of Lasio (at salon), Rejuvenol (at salon and at home about 12 times) and the Marcia Teixeira Chocolate Keratin Treatment (at salon).  So how does TMS compare to the others?

Pretty similar in that my curls came back right away.  However, I did not feel the smoothness on my hair like I have in the past with other treatments.   My hair did not seem any more elongated than normal, while wet.  It shrunk up as usual once dry.

The shampoo and conditioner that came with the kit did nothing for my hair.  The shampoo was not stripping and the conditioner was not really moisturizing for my hair.  I plan to use my own shampoo and conditioner going forward.  I have no plans to keep the treatment on my hair for the full 6 weeks so my next wash will likely be with a sulfate shampoo.

I styled my hair with Design Essentials Honey Curlforming Custard and noticed no straight pieces or heat damage.  I did not use high heat and I did not use multiple passes on the flat iron.  Your results will vary if you use higher heat or multiple passes.  All and all the system worked like a keratin treatment although I feel no urge to use it a second time.
